So Easy to Hit I Ended Up in Hospital

From the very first drive, I found that I could get after it and swing as hard as I can and still find the fairway. I was hitting much longer and straighter drives than with my usual gamer. Sadly, as my confidence grew, I began to get carried away and started swinging for the fences on every tee shot. I’m happy to report that I did hit every fairway (I’m usually pretty straight, but never 100%). After carding a one-over-par round, I woke up the next morning and could barely get out of bed, my back hurt so much. By two days later, I was so bad I needed IV meds at the hospital for the pain. Tomorrow will be the first time I feel okay enough to play again. I’ll let you know if I end up back at the hospital on Saturday! This driver delivers as promised.

So far this is the absolute best driver I’ve ever hit in my life. The feel and ball flight have my confidence flying side by side with golf ball.

I Finally Found My Driver – Krank Formula FIRE X

Before switching to Krank, I had been using the Titleist TS2 9.5°. I felt it was time for a new driver, so I started researching different brands, reading countless user reviews, and watching YouTube videos. That’s when I discovered Krank Golf.

At first, I was honestly skeptical. Krank wasn’t a brand I was familiar with, and while there were plenty of reviews, I wasn’t sure what to expect. But after a lot of thought, I decided to give it a try and ordered the Formula FIRE X 10.5°.

When I first took it to the driving range, two things stood out immediately:

Distance – It was noticeably longer than my previous driver.

Forgiveness – Mishits were far more forgiving compared to the TS2.

Of course, I knew the range wouldn’t tell the full story, so I took it out on the course—and it exceeded my expectations. The distance increase was obvious, and even my playing partners, who know my usual driving distance, were genuinely surprised. One tee shot was enough to impress everyone.

What I appreciate most is the combination of distance and forgiveness. No, it’s not magic—it won’t fix a bad swing—but slight hooks or slices still flew well and stayed in play. That added forgiveness really boosted my confidence off the tee.

So far, I’ve only used it once on the range and once on the course, but even with that short experience, I can confidently say that this driver fits me perfectly.

If I had to point out one downside, it would be the sound at impact. It has a somewhat hollow and dull tone. There’s a slight difference between the sound on center hits versus toe shots, but overall, it’s just not the type of sound I personally prefer. I’m not usually sensitive to sound, but with this driver, I did notice it. If you’re someone who’s picky about how a club sounds, this is something to consider.

That said, the performance more than makes up for it. And on a positive note, the head design looks fantastic in person. It’s sleek, bold, and gives you a solid, confident look at address.

In conclusion, I’m really glad I chose Krank. The FIRE X has exceeded my expectations, and I fully intend to keep it in the bag for a long time.
